The last time about Vista SP1 - who sits on what
The fact that today (or rather, yesterday) was announced about the release of RTM is probably no longer a secret for anyone. Some even managed to download and install a fresh release.
However, many of those who downloaded the wzor.net release of January 28 still doubt what they installed. Therefore, I would like to shed light on this issue once and for all.
So, build 6001.18000.080118-1840 was originally the last of the release candidates (Refresh 2).
January 21, it was decided that it will be a release. This is evidenced by the entry in the corporate blog:
In this regard, many bugs were simply closed as WONTFIX (damn!), Otherwise the release would have been delayed indefinitely. However, there were still a few problems found at the last moment that blocked the release - related to the installer, Windows Update, and localization. In this regard, the release took place a week later than the binaries were ready.
As a result, it turns out that the release from wzor and the official release differ in a couple of little things in the installer, while the files of the two distributions are exactly the same. Therefore, do not panic to reinstall what you already have ...
The WOW continues!
