I think everyone knows the file manager Total Commander (a few years ago called Windows Commander). The popularity and convenience of this tool under Windows is such that many users simply cannot imagine how to use a computer without TC. I - including.
But also, unfortunately, many users have various difficulties when working with TC. This is normal - after all, for fifteen years of its existence, TC has turned into a rather complicated program. Of course, reading documentation (Russian help for TC is made even better than the original) helps, but not always. And not all users are guessing to read it ...
For many years, along with the official TC forum, there is a Russian-language support forum Total Commander. The community helps solve problems, gives advice, makes translations, etc. The amount of information accumulated over the years is really huge. And this creates a new problem - the problem of finding the right information.
A year and a half ago, I started collecting and organizing this information. Many sources were “dug up” - the Russian forum, the official forum, the ru-board ... Yes, I won’t remember everything. As a result, a collection of Russian-language knowledge base about Total Commander appeared in the form of a chm-file.
After some time, it was decided to make an online version of the database. After overcoming some difficulties, the work was completed: RU.TCKB Online .
Although porting a lot of articles to the wiki engine has taken quite a while, I hope that now things will go faster: all members of the community will be able to edit articles, not just me.
What information can be found on RU.TCKB?
A large number of articles, both for beginners and experienced users.
Answers to questions framed not as a simple FAQ, but also as some semblance of a textbook.
Materials for developers of plugins, utilities and scripts.
Descriptions of existing plugins and utilities (a complete catalog of plugins is currently being compiled).
Lots of other useful information.
The project is completely non-profit, does not contain any advertising. Everything is based on continuous enthusiasm and a desire to help one's neighbor (and also, in a way, to oneself - after all, now you can answer “RTFM” to most of the questions and give a link).
We invite all TC users to take a look, and possibly even participate.
