Intel released a useless processor

Following the release of the Barcelona processor, released by AMD, Intel almost immediately threw its new product to the market - the Core 2 Extreme QX9770 processor.

The 3.2 GHz Yorkfield core, 1600 MHz bus - the pebble characteristics are impressive, especially the bus frequency. However, the latter, especially coupled with the price of the processor, played a trick on Intel. The fact is that for the QX9770 model, costing about $ 1,200, which is not enough in itself, it is very difficult to find an affordable motherboard with support for the 1.6 GHz bus. That is, you can buy a percent, but only for admiring and phrases such as “but I have a QX9770!”, No more.
