“Hello world!” On your iPhone today

The TUAW blog writes about the completion of a kind of breakthrough made by a group of program code magicians gathered around the #iphone IRC channel. They finally released the binary version and sources of the first unofficial program for the mega-device Apple iPhone.

For obvious reasons, the program only demonstrates the ability to install and operate third-party software on the iPhone and therefore does nothing other than the traditional output of the “Hello, world!” Greeting via the GUI of the gadget. This may not be the clearest example of reverse engineering in the computer field, but it certainly deserves attention.
