Google launches content search for phones
The Wall Street Journal reports that Google is working on a search engine for mobile content, including finding tunes and games.
“Thanks to the new system, users will be able to search for selective content, for example, ringtones, and get a list of companies offering melodies along with links that allow them to be purchased ... The company worked for several months with content providers to index their data and access them through mobile search ... Google is considering creating an element of a social network that allows Gmail users to share content, says a person close to the company. However, the search company declined to comment. ”
Google at one time launched mobile versions of most of its services, including search, Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, andis currently testing AdSense for mobile content. Searching for ringtones and games is almost a free market - and Google may well master and occupy it.
