Web 2.0 Errors

Or where to go next. It will be about one element of technology 20 (20 - Web 2.0 technology, author's note). Namely about the cloud. Cloud, or tag cloud.

    Background
Information has become a lot, and classifiers no longer work. Classifiers threw out, invented tags, or categories, or keywords.

A cloud is an area on a page that is randomly filled with text blocks, link tags. Their size depends on the relevance of a tag, on how often it is written on this topic, and so on.

Everything seems to be good. However, it turned out as always. Those clouds that I saw, I mean projects 20, do not reflect the essence of technology. Let’s say, Lebedev saw a cloud of work for certain customers, where parts of the cloud are the names of customers. It works here. And, let's say in most open 20s, this is not so obvious. Many words of the same level, with minimal relevance, that is, one size. And it is not at all clear how to find “a ray in the dark kingdom” among this cloud.

The solution, in my opinion, lies precisely in the fact that there are no traditions. That is, in this case, the harmony of opposites, it is just to take freedom, and to take order, then there will be harmony.

I came up with a practical embodiment for a specific project. Of course, in this case, the relative ease of implementation is due to the fact that the customer, or the one who fills the tags, is one unit, one organization.

    Recommendations for building tags
Number three. In the process of inventing tags, it should be borne in mind that people are conditionally divided into audials, visuals, and kinesthetics. Through tags, of course, it is difficult to implement such an approach, but you can try. We take the number three from here.

Purpose, content, mood. Tags reflect the purpose of the article, its content, and the mood of the author. For example, in the article “Microsoft got involved in a controversial lawsuit”, the tag for goals may be “redistribution of the market”, the content of the “lawsuit of the giants”, the mood of the author of “big piski”.

Pairing tags. It is important to select tags in three, that is, the number of tags in goals, content and mood should match. Three, six, nine, and so on.

Using these recommendations, any cloud can be made alive, diverse, and useful.
