File Sharing Harm US Children and Homeland Security

Representatives of the United States Patent Bureau (United States Patent and Trademark Office) issued a statement in which they said that file-sharing resources and networks could become an occasion for involving children in lawsuits regarding the theft of music and films, and also pose a threat to the country's national security.

It turns out that children using P2P resources are much more likely to violate copyright law than adults, without realizing it. In turn, government employees involved in "file sharing" often "share" folders where important documents are stored.

Of course, everything is not as scary as the authors of the message claim. Just peer-to-peer networks have long been a headache for many, including statesmen and owners of major record labels. So it is possible that the report is a way to attract public attention and try to form its opinion.
