Yahoo and Microsoft become mobile

Yahoo has introduced a graphical advertising program on its mobile sites in 19 countries in America, Europe and Asia (including the USA, UK, France, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, Thailand and Australia). This step Yahoo followed after a year-long expansion into the mobile device market, which was accompanied by the conclusion of partnership agreements with mobile operators. However, from a formal point of view, right now, Yahoo has made a strong bid for the mobile market.

In addition, Yahoo has released a new version (“Gamma”) of Yahoo! Go 2.0. Its new version allows you to search directly from geographical maps, and also shares oneSearch search results and news articles directly with your partners. According to the developers, the new advertising platform can dynamically change the size of graphic banners, depending on the screen size on the device on which the user views the web page. Some banners support click-to-call technology.

Eight advertisers have signed agreements with Yahoo to supply global mobile advertising, including Infiniti, Intel, Nissan, Procter & Gamble.

According to the analytic company Telephia, which specializes in measuring the mobile market, Yahoo has access to a mobile audience of 14.5 million users in the USA, ahead of the closest pursuers Google, MSN and AOL. In the "mobile race" Yahoo is slightly ahead of Google. Yahoo mobile beta testing began in October, a month after Google did so in the US and Europe. Yahoo! customer Go for Mobile Appeared in January 2006.

Microsoft Launched Live Search for Mobile Phoneshaving timed this announcement to the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona. The first version of this program for the mobile platform Windows Mobile has been released. Compared to the beta version released in November 2006, several new features have been added. Among the available features is a local search by category of objects (restaurants, bars, cinemas), geographical maps, and traffic congestion. Added contact list integration and SMS sending function.

This is not the only "mobile news" from the 3GSM conference. In addition, InfoSpace announced a partnership with the search engine FAST , which, moreover, is the developer of the original advertising platform . Another “advertising alliance” was formed through the collaboration of AdStar and Nokia.
