"Hand in Hand" and Job.Ru "left" from Holland to Turkey

The publisher "Hand in Hand" , whose assets include job.ru , job-today.ru , auto-photo.ru, and others, goes to the ownership of the Turkish media group Dogan Yayin AS . This group for $ 500 million buys 100% of the Dutch company Trader Media East Ltd. (TME), which, in addition to the above, publishes in Russia the magazines "Wholesaler", "Auto", the newspaper "Work Today."

The buyer hopes that the acquisition of TME will help him become one of the largest publishers of advertising newspapers in the world. With the involvement of TME, it is planned to increase the share of foreign operations in Dogan's total revenue to 35%. According to InterfaxIn 2005, the Turkish company’s revenue amounted to $ 1.3 billion. It controls two leading newspapers and two popular television channels in Turkey, having 15% of the country's advertising market.

Along with this, going to a deal, the Turkish holding is going to expand its business in Central and Eastern Europe. The acquired TME owns media assets in Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Ukraine - a total of 256 monthly and daily publications and 12 sites. At the same time, business in Russia brings TME more than 70% of consolidated revenue. In 2005, this figure was $ 197.9 million. It is reported that among the interests of the new TME owner in Europe, the online advertising market is not in last place.

The TME offer per share was $ 10, which is higher than the current price of these shares on the market. Their average price over the past three months was $ 8.1. According to TME, the board supported Dogan Yayin AS's proposal and encouraged shareholders to vote for it.

Note that during the February 2006 IPO on the London Stock Exchange, Trader Media East shares were sold at $ 13 apiece. Experts explain the decrease in their quotes by the crisis in the Russian market of advertising and informational press. They see the cause of the crisis, in particular, in stagnation in the capital's real estate market, when the number of announcements about buying and selling apartments this year decreased several times, reports Vzglyad .
