Runet celebrated its day for the second time in a year

    Internet Day was held in Russia on September 30, Itar-TASS reports . It was first celebrated in the country back in 1998, when a millionth user appeared in the Russian segment of the Network. It is reported that by 2006 the audience of the Runet has increased 25 times.

    It is noteworthy that the Internet in Russia has another holiday. April 7 is his birthday. And the reason for highlighting this date appeared much earlier, namely, in 1994, when the international organization ICANN, which regulates relations in the global domain space, registered the domain Ru for Russia. According to Ru-Center, by the 12th anniversary of the Russian Internet, the number of domains in the Ru zone has reached half a million.
