Newspapers are looking for a way to survive

To save money, newspapers are reducing their format. The New York Times is no exception. Today on the pages of an influential American newspaper there was a message that the page size will be reduced - they will already be 3.5 cm. This will reduce the area of informational messages directly by 11%, but they will not suffer in volumes, as the number of pages will increase.

ITAR-TASS reports that it was also decided to close the New York Times printing house in Edison. At the same time, about a thousand employees will be reduced. “This is the least painful path for our economic survival. Otherwise, we would have to cut staff, close our offices abroad, reduce the costs of journalistic investigations and reduce the size of our office in Washington, ”Keller explains the changes that are due in April 2008.

Some of America’s leading publications (The Washington Post and Los Angeles Times) have already reduced their page sizes. Such measures are explained, in particular, by the loss of paper media of readers and advertisers - they now increasingly go for information on the Internet.
