Firefox passes Acid2 test for the first time!
For the first time in its history, Firefox passed the Acid2 test . This test allows you to determine how certain browsers adhere to HTML and CSS standards. Until today, from Windows-compatible browsers, only Opera 9 passed the Acid2 test successfully.
Successful passing of the test was made possible thanks to the introduction of Gecko: Reflow Refactoring in the last "night" build of Firefox 3.0a1 from December 8th . Even the first alpha version of Firefox 3.0 does not. The screenshots of the test in different versions of Firefox are shown below for comparison:
Firefox 2.0
Firefox 3.0a1
Firefox 3.0a1 nightly build 12/8/06
