Files transferred via Skype will be synchronized with all devices of the user.

Resource ghacks.net drew attention to the new function of Skype, which will appear in the next update of the desktop application. Now files transferred by the user via Skype will automatically be synchronized with all devices that will be logged in under this account. Simply put, sending a file to a working chat from a home computer, you can be sure that it will be available from a working laptop and from a mobile device. At the same time, there has not yet been an official announcement of a new feature in the Skype blog, but the corresponding help section has already been updated.

File synchronization will take into account the possible loss of connection: in this case, the transfer will resume automatically as soon as the Internet appears. True, the size of the transferred files is a significant limitation - the file size should not exceed 100 MB, and otherwise Microsoft recommends using its cloud service OneDrive. Also, 30 days set the maximum storage period of the “shared” file, after which it will be unavailable.

    Error message in Skype.

By the way, in Russia this week there was some confusion regarding the prohibition of calls between Skype and landline and mobile phones. First it became knownthat a draft resolution of the government of the Russian Federation was published, from which it follows that VoIP calls to regular phones will be banned. Later, the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media actually refuted this information, stating literally that “it does not change the existing regulation regarding IP telephony operators”.
