Drupal is seven years old
On this day ( here about January 15, the news was a bit late :), seven years ago, Drupal 1.0.0 was released ! The following text is taken from the original message:
Today, after a long period of testing, drop.org announces the release of Drupal 1.00. Drupal is a full-featured content / discussion management program using Apache / PHP / MySQL and is suitable for news-sharing communities or portals like kuro5hin.org and slashdot.org. Current features include discussion forums, a web-based management interface, topic support, open question lists, content management, a modular structure, PHP session support, user management with access control and filters for user names / inappropriate content / hosts, error logs, a diary module , a module of similar sites, the generation of RSS / RDF feeds and much more.
I was very happy to find the support of people who saw potential in Drupal after the release of its first version. At the present time, I want to say thanks to the hundreds of people who are involved in the development of Drupal and thanks to whom Drupal is developing rapidly.
What has not changed over the past seven years is that there are still a million great ideas worthy of embodiment.
