Pebble 2, Time 2 and Pebble Core raised $ 2 million in 3 hours on Kickstarter
Another Pebble Kickstarter record
Pebble is back today with three new Kickstarter projects . The company introduced the Pebble 2, Time 2 smart watches and a Pebble Core laptop computer with 4 GB of internal memory and priced at $ 99. The latter solution is intended for lovers of outdoor activities and sports. It is equipped with support for GPS, Wi-Fi and is compatible with applications on Android and JavaScrips, created using the Pebble JavaScript framework.
It is noteworthy that in addition to Pebble Core for sports fans, the company also announced Pebble Core for hackers. This is interesting because there are few fitness trackers for hardware enthusiasts. In the version of the laptop on Android, two control buttons can be programmed for any action.
The new Pebble 2 and Time 2 have the ability to track the user's pulse and have an impressive battery life of 7 and 10 days, respectively. The cost of Pebble 2 is $ 99, while Time 2 can be purchased for $ 169 for basic equipment.
Along with the new Pebble models, users will have access to the Pebble Health mobile app, which tracks physical performance. The application records periods of deep and fast sleep, heart rate and other data. Switching between running and walking modes in statistics occurs automatically. Pebble 2 and Time 2 will receive support for an alarm based on sleep phases - this feature is especially popular in sports bracelets in recent years.
Pebble 2, Time 2 and Pebble Core will be available early next year. At the time of this writing, the project has already collected more than $ 2.2 million in Kickstarter funding in less than three hours. Pebble has already set a record for collective funding. In 2012, Pebble requested $ 100 thousand, which received 2 hours. A year ago, the record was broken. The requested half a million were collected in 17 minutes. In total, last year’s campaign raised over $ 20 million.
