Office and home projectors - what's the difference?
Some time ago, the team of the ProjectorWorld.ru site became interested in the question: how do home projectors differ from office (universal) projectors?
To understand, they took two of our projectors for testing: a home Epson EH-TW5350 with a resolution of 1080p and an office Epson EB-U32 with a resolution of WUXGA. During testing, it was found that these models are similar in many respects, so the authors decided to get to the bottom of the differences, and prepared an interesting video about how home and office projectors can differ in terms of these two models:
A text version of the review is available at this address .
The authors draw attention to 10 major differences:
The author emphasizes that the findings should not be extended to all office and home projectors, but it is always useful to have these 10 points in mind when choosing between projectors of two different specializations.
From our side, we add that both projectors are not the most budget in their groups, therefore they have enhanced functionality. For example, the standard model Epson EH-TW5300 , unlike the Epson EH-TW5350 , does not have built-in support for Miracast, and Epson EB-U04 , the “little brother,” Epson EB-U32 supports the wireless network only after installing the optional USB module.
Another example is the built-in sound. Indeed, the dynamics of home projectors are still better suited for watching movies (as far as possible for the built-in sound in the projector). But here, too, everything is individual. For example, the Epson EH-TW6600 projector, designed for living rooms, has more powerful 2 × 10 W stereo speakers, but the Epson EH-TW7200 , which is a home theater projector, does not have any built-in sound at all, as older models assume that home theater certainly has a separate speaker system.
As for office projectors, Epson has a separate line of projectors for education, the difference of which is in the presence of more powerful than Epson EB-U32, dynamics (up to 16 watts), and additional audio inputs and outputs, as well as through VGA-in / output for transmitting the signal through the chain to the next device. In general, home and universal projectors are very similar in many respects, but they are distinguished by additional functions and capabilities that determine their specialization.
As a result of the comparison, we can conclude that if you are looking for the most versatile projector that can be used to watch videos and give presentations in both dark and lighted rooms, the recommendation would be to buy a “universal” model from the corresponding Epson device line, respectively . However, if you are sure that the projector will be mainly used indoors (more or less dark) and for video games, then the home projector will be the most successful and suitable choice.
If you have questions about the choice of the projector, always ready to answer them! And if there is a desire to talk on them directly with a specialist on the phone, the guys from our service "Hotline» Epson they will be happy to help, because they not only help solve problems, but also help with the choice of equipment for your tasks.
