Face the Earth and Uranus? Nothing is easier - use Universe Sandbox

Simulator creator of stars and planets in action.

Universe Sandbox is a realistic space and gravity simulator that allows you to create new worlds, juggle with planets, arrange disasters of a truly cosmic scale. For the first time this game (is it a game?) Appeared in 2008, and now it has become available on Steam Early Access. This is the latest version, Universe Sandbox 2 , where there is a virtual reality mode.

Here you can study the influence of existing objects of the solar system on each other. Well, for example, send the Earth in a long flight to Uranus, and then see what happens if the Earth collides with this gas giant.

The game is quite realistic, taking into account, for example, the fact that our planet will have time to freeze over the time it takes to make this “journey”. Not only igrodels, but also scientists are taking part in the development of the simulator. For example, Jenn Seiler, an astrophysicist, and Naomi Goldenson, a climatologist. Other specialists are working on the creation of the game - this makes the simulator really realistic.

The special charm of the game gives the virtual reality mode, where the planets appear before the gaze of the player in all its glory. Thanks to this, someone can study the features of objects in the solar system, and someone can bombard the planets with their own moons.

There is also the opportunity to feel yourself an operator of the Death Star - the most powerful gaming laser allows you to melt the surface of planets and satellites. Kill half the population of the Earth to put a smiley face on its surface? Yes please!

In the near future, developers are planning to add a number of new functions, both scientific and purely entertaining. It is not necessary to destroy anything, you can simply study the features of the movement of the planets, their satellites, view interesting objects of the Solar System. But both ordinary gamers and users who enjoy astronomy can enjoy it.
