Excelsior JET discontinues development of its AOT compiler after 18 years of work

Those who follow what is happening with the Java platform are probably on the topic that there is a very interesting AOT compiler for Java developed by a Russian company from Novosibirsk. This is one of those projects to be proud of.

Until recently, everything was very good:

    1. Standard x86 was available for free
    2. The developers gave interviews, from which it followed that the product does not stand still, develops: Severe Siberian JVM: a large interview about Excelsior JET
    3. At JPoint 2019, Nikita Lipsky ( pjBooms ) made a very interesting presentation: JPoint 2019: from dawn to dusk

And then one day, it seems, it was all over. Today I learned that the other day clients received a letter of happiness with the headline: "There will be no Excelsior JET 16".

pjBooms , is that really true? So, the only working AOT compiler after 18 years of success in the market just disappears?
