Expanding the capabilities of the car audio system on the example of the Mercedes W203
Another application of the MP3862BT module in a car:
I am the owner of a used Mercedes W203, 2000 release. I got it with a cassette player. Why the first owner, Italian, ordered such an audio system in a fairly modern car is not entirely clear. Therefore, I have long felt the need to listen to music from a smartphone and tablet.
There is neither desire nor opportunity to change the radio tape recorder to a "smart" contingency. Moreover, 15 thousand rubles were not in my budget. And most importantly, when installing a freelance radio, I lose control of the audio system on the steering wheel. Therefore, I have long been looking for an option for inexpensive refinement of the standard audio system to the modern level. To refine the radio, it was decided to use the MP3862BT module, from the company Master KIT.

MP8036BT is a Bluetooth receiver with a wide range of power and a linear output adapted for connection to any AUX inputs. There are playback control buttons on the board, which, if necessary, can be displayed for external control. From the above it can be seen that the board is specially designed for quick installation in any sound system.

Installation was not long in coming.
On the Internet I found a description of the radio and the place to connect the AUX input, in a standard radio.

Since when connecting the module to a smartphone, a pleasant melody is produced in the speakers, it was decided not to display the indication on the radio panel, which also simplified the connection.

If necessary, from the terminals of the MP3862BT board, you can output the AUX input for using "orthodox" devices (players) on the mini-jack. But something tells me that this is not required.
There was no place for installing the module MP3862BT "> MP3862BT without any particular difficulties.

Before assembling the radio, we check everything for proper operation.

Unfortunately, at this stage, the operation of the cassette deck could not be restored. When you turn off the tape drive mechanism of the cassette, the controller senses something is amiss and cuts off the electronics of the radio. To switch to playback from the bluetooth module, you must install the cassette in the cassette receiver. Therefore, in order for everything to be all right, you need to sculpt a snag that will send a signal to the protection unit, activating the output AUX input. But, at this stage, as long as he is satisfied as is, he is happy as an elephant. Ideally, you need to connect the control buttons of the tape recorder to the control buttons on the module. After such refinement, it will be possible to control the flow from the radio panel.
The process of removing the radio can be found on the forums, takes 5-10 minutes.
The manual for my radio can be downloaded here .
The question is, why did the manufacturer of the radio do not AUX, despite the fact that there are all the possibilities? This will probably remain a mystery forever.
Here it is import substitution, as it is. Thank you Master Kit for the second life of my radio!
A little later I will send a video how it all works.

P.S. From Master Kit: You can read about another option for using the bluetooth module in this publication (we make wireless active speakers).
P.p.s And you can also connect a media player to the head unit, which will read from a flash drive, is equipped with bluetooth, etc., we read in this publication .
