Terrorists use their own encrypted messenger

A group of hackers Ghost Security Group , which proclaimed its task to combat the manifestations of terrorism in cyberspace, has found a special mobile application , which, according to GSG, are used by communication terrorists from the so-called "Islamic state." The Alrawi app, according to GSG, supports encrypted chats.

Naturally, the application cannot be downloaded from Google - it is distributed through specialized sites. No one has yet examined the reliability of the chat encryption protocol - but the chat rooms are encrypted, and it is not possible to ban this application.

Earlier, in December 2015, Ghost Security Group, penetrating one encrypted chat in Telegram, discovered a mobile application, which is a news portal promoting the "achievements" of terrorists. The portal is managed by the Amaq News Agency group, whose activities are associated with ISIS.

After the GSG indicated that terrorists used encrypted chats on Telegram, the company of Pavel Durov made some changes in its service - in particular, the ability to moderate groups was introduced.

The information that modern terrorists use modern means of communication leads to different opinions . Presidents of some states urge companies developing applications and hardware to leave special backdoors available for special services in their products.

Opponents of this opinion believe that the privacy of ordinary people, of whom the majority, is much more important than trying to deal with the means of communication of terrorists, because the latter in any case will find how to communicate with each other - especially since some accusations of terrorists of excessive cunning turn out to be groundless.
