Panasonic demonstrated a transparent display
At CES 2016 , Consumer Electronics Show , Panasonic showed off an unusual display that could become transparent. Moreover, in the standard mode of operation, it looks like a regular display.
The glass panel does not have 100% transparency, but looks like a slightly tinted glass. At the base of the panel, which is made with a decorative wooden finish at the exhibition, there are microscopic LEDs that project the image onto the panel.
According to the idea of the company's designers, the display can be mounted, for example, on a cabinet, and simultaneously serve as a decorative panel and display. The maximum resolution of the picture is 1080 pixels wide. During operation, the display can preserve the translucency of individual regions.
In addition to the obvious television, the company's designers offer a weather show, as well as a virtual shelf with music or films, as options for use. Management is carried out by gestures recognized by the built-in camera.
