NASA will hold a competition for humanoid robots
Recently, NASA announced that it will present its two humanoid robots, but not disinterestedly.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Northeastern University, which will receive a robot, will have to modernize humanoids in clever autonomous robots that could help people or replace them in extreme space conditions.
The R5 Valkyrie robots (1.8 m high and weighing 131 kg) were originally designed to maneuver to prevent accidents, but will soon become excellent tools for deep space exploration .
University teams selected by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as part of a robotics competition will receive $ 500,000 each and NASA virtual technical support to complete the project within two years.
After that, the upgraded R5 will take part in the NASA Space Robotics Challenge , which involves a virtual competition in simulators, as well as a physical test to test functionality.
