The wide-screen cinema screen and the atmosphere of the modern auditorium are strongly associated in our imagination not only with the bright and exciting plot of films, but also with visual and sound special effects, which are already perceived as an integral part of the film. That is why, from the very beginning, the authors of the development set themselves a rather bold and difficult task - as far as the technical capabilities allow today, to solve the problem of the mismatch between the potential of the tiny (in comparison) Royole-X screen and the screens of the home theater and, especially, the auditorium.
The inventors argue that a number of unique technologies used and innovative design, multiplied by long hours and months of trial and error, allowed us to create a solution that can successfully compete with a full-fledged home theater, and by some indicators, far exceed the latter. At the same time, the audience will not have to make any sacrifices either in comfort or in rest.
The authors position the Royole-X not just as a kind of analogue to the headset, but nothing more than a wearable computer, a folding mobile cinema with a portable display of ultra high pixel density and a mobile audio-video station. The final version of the device prototype, presented on the Indiegogo platform, became the 6th in a row for the authors of the development. According to the developers, the novelty will be ready for shipment to the USA in January 2016, after which it will be available in other countries after some time.
According to Royole, they managed to create a screen with the highest pixel density in the world at 3300 PPI, which is almost 10 times higher than that of the flagship smartphones of several leading companies. According to them, a clearer, high-quality and detailed picture has not yet been implemented in any of the existing types of consumer electronics of this target segment.
The contrast of the Royole-X AMOLED display is 10,000: 1, the response speed is 2 ms, 24-bit RGB color mode is responsible for the color rendering parameters. The authors promise excellent ergonomics, quality and durability of materials.
Active noise reduction mode (up to 22dB) provides 1% sound distortion, which allows you to fully concentrate on the viewing process, without being distracted by sounds from the outside.
