Eight thousandth taken
Welcome to the iCover Blog Pages . Surely it’s not a secret for you that today you will not surprise anyone with an LCD panel with a resolution of 4K. But after all, there are technologies for that to make them even more perfect. And this simple truth was once again confirmed by the engineers of the Japanese companies Sharp and Japan Dysplay, offering the world a new quality of work and rest behind screens with a resolution of 8K (7680 x 4320). So some of those who value 4K resolution for granted may very soon have a very attractive alternative.
The current prototype Sharp LV-85001 - the world's first TV with a diagonal of 85 inches and a resolution of 8K (7680 by 4320 pixels) was presented in the United States at the CES International Electronics Show earlier this year. According to The Vergegiant Sharp LV-85001 will go on sale on October 31 immediately after the announcement at CEATEC. True, “free” sale can be called a stretch in connection with the cost of new items in 133 000 US dollars (16 million ¥).
Interestingly, to display images in 8K resolution, you need to use four HDMI 2.0 inputs. Note that they plan to introduce broadcasting in 8K format in test mode in Japan only in 2016. In this regard, the company's first production model 8K is focused primarily on commercial organizations, where there is a need to demonstrate high-quality high-resolution images on large screens. Moreover, since June of this year YouTube also supports the technical ability to broadcast video with a resolution of 8K. So Sharp, in the best traditions of the leader and trendsetter of the world of high technology, again took the lead.
With a pixel density of 104 pixels per inch, the claimed contrast of the IGZO panel will be 100,000: 1 with viewing angles of 176 degrees. Screen refresh rate 120 Hz. The device comes with a built-in TV tuner.
The emergence of a new standard is the best way to make the progress wheel spin even faster. Another Japanese company Japan Display is striving to take its place on the market, having offered its vision of developing a 17.3-inch LCD module in 8K resolution with a record density of 510 pixels per inch. Like the Sharp LV-85001, the Japan Display concept viewing angle is 176 degrees, and the screen refresh rate is 120 Hz. The declared brightness of the glow is 500 cd / m. sq., contrast - 2000: 1 at a resolution of 7680 x 4320.
The company is confident that such a display will be in demand in medicine, among professional video editors and gamers.
They are planning to demonstrate the new product at the NHK / JEITA stand at the annual CEATEC exhibition, which is scheduled to be held in Japan at the end of this month. The cost of the module has not been prudently disclosed.
