Wearable Electronics at IFA 2015

At the consumer electronics exhibition in Berlin, many companies brought wearable gadgets - watches, smart clothes, fitness bracelets. You may notice that smart devices are more often made in the form factor of classic mechanical watches with the ability to select the dial that is as close as possible to the real one.

I just flew from Berlin from the exhibition, under the cut - my photos and information about these gadgets. At Lenovo's stand, there are Moto 360 watches of 42 and 46 mm caliber, 42 mm watches in two versions - for a narrow and wide strap. They have a large number of straps that are easy to change with a special lock. The display does not occupy the entire front part - the lower part of the dial was left so that sensors could be placed there. The case is made of aircraft steel, the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass.

Android Wear operating system allows you to start a car, check the degree of tire wear, use smart locks that open when the clock approaches. Four gigabytes of internal memory will allow you to listen to music from the watch. Protection against dust and moisture - IP67. Hocomo Back Exercise Device and Hearing Aid for iPhone - Resound received UX Design Award.

Hocomo has two sensors that are secured with a patch on the chest and around the tailbone. Exercises are games: you control the bird, carefully following the line, changing direction by moving left and right. A more complex version of the game is when you use the right, left, and forward tilts. You can’t lean back - this is an “unnatural” movement that is dangerous for the spine, as the company representative said. There are several difficulty levels.

Resound is a hearing aid for iOS devices.

ZTE showed a "smart" ring. The charging station is a beautiful, but not at all small steel box. The ring is highlighted when you receive notifications on your smartphone, with a wave of your hand you can take photos from your smartphone - for example, if you use a telescopic device to photograph yourself. Another option is to send coordinates in an emergency to the selected recipient, the "emergency button".
