Hoverbike - personal transport of the future

The Malloy Aeronautics company and the US Department of Defense are developing a device that is a mixture of a motorcycle and a helicopter. Hoverbike - a new aircraft, recently demonstrated at an air show in Paris Le Bourget. True, the company's specialists have prepared a test model equal to the third part of the size of the projected version. A reduced model of the concept served to attract investment in the development of a manned model. The developers are sure that this new word is able to gain a foothold in the aviation sector for a long time.

New Zealand engineer from Australia Chris Malloy after testing the mini version of Hoverbike said that the full-size Hoverbike can be used as a personal vehicle, the controls and engine of which will be taken over from motor vehicles. With a full tank - thirty liters of fuel, the potential range of the prototype is about 150 kilometers, which is approximately equal to 50 minutes of flight. The inventor also believes that his brainchild will be able to reach a height of three kilometers and reach speeds of up to 278 kilometers per hour. The installation of an additional tank, doubling the flight range, is also provided.

The price of this aircraft of the future apparatus is projected at around 80 thousand dollars. Work on the project is carried out in conjunction with the US research laboratory. In flight, a Hoverbike behaves like a quadrocopter, and can fly with and without a person. The device was tested only with insurance - it was tied so that it could not gain height. But in the near future he will be given free flight. An aircraft made of a mixture of motorcycle and helicopter is a new way of traveling on ... the earth? .. through the air? .. In space!

Very soon, the inventor plans to begin testing a full-scale version of the device. In a previous article we wrote about flying drones, their possible use in the near future, and the exhibition in Le Bourget only confirms the assumption that drones have enormous potential, including the use of them for civilian purposes. Perhaps services such as delivery and the postal service will be priority areas for operating drones in an urban environment. Therefore, Hottabych is increasingly convinced of the need to use such devices in his activities, but so far the question remains open.
