This robot walks like a human

Now you can still not really worry about the uprising of the machines - if it does, then very soon. Nevertheless, robots are becoming more advanced, although there are still a lot of problems in robotics. For example, robotic stability when walking is a significant problem.

Two teams, Sandia National Labs and SRI International, teamed up to compete with DARPA. The product of such cooperation turned out to be interesting - it is a two-legged erect robot, whose name is " DURUS ". It was this robot that became the winner of the competition, having covered 2.05 km in 2.5 hours. During this time, the robot used only 16% of the battery charge.

The result shown by the robot is quite interesting - not only because the system covered 2.5 km, but also how much energy was spent. Other similar systems consume much more energy. Now the team is finalizing the robot, trying to achieve a more effective result, to walk 10 km using the current battery of 2.2 kW * h.
