Paper books are still loved, but they sometimes lack portability. And at the same time, hardly anyone wants to pay twice for the same book. The BitLit application for Android and iOS is designed to fix this problem: the owner of a paper copy of the book can get a free electronic version.

To do this, you need to photograph the cover of the book in the application - BitLit will check whether there is an electronic version and whether it will cost money. After that, you need to confirm that this is actually your book, using a regular pen - write your name on the cover. This step is necessary so that people do not take pictures of books in stores and libraries. As soon as you confirm your ownership of the book in this way, the application allows you to send the electronic version to Kindle, Kobo, Nook, or simply read the book in PDF.

A similar service is already offered by Amazon - the Kindle Matchbook . The service allows you to buy books at prices ranging from 99 cents to $ 2.99 after purchasing a physical version on Amazon.
