Unusual abilities of smart lamps: Luminous can distinguish colors

Last year, several smart lamps with atypical abilities appeared. Unexpected was the BeON model , which had a built-in battery in case of emergency power outages. Its second function was “guard”: the model was able to imitate the presence of the owners and thereby escape from thieves. Another model - Qube - was supposed to synchronize with fitness trackers and give signals about incoming calls.

And many rightly pointed out that such functions from smart lighting, by and large, are not required. Smart lamps, many of which are listed in a large selectionabout “Smart Home” they should be able to turn on and off remotely, maybe change colors, maybe intensity ... All the rest is a race of competitors and “one-time” pleasures. From this point of view, we decided to look at Luminous to understand what is needed and what is not needed in the smart lamp that we have been selling for several years.

Now, the capabilities of a Bluetooth lamp do not cause any enthusiasm or other emotions, and everyone perfectly understands what can be expected from the category of smart lamps:

    • Remote control
    • Brightness adjustment
    • Color choice

All this, of course, is in Luminous. The diode lamp turns on and off from a smartphone that reaches it using Bluetooth 4.0 and above. For this, for iOS (including, according to iTunes, and for Apple Watch) and Android , applications are provided.

The main color comes from the diodes located along the rim.

    "Side" is from five central.

Accordingly, all additional modes are associated with this central part. It looks like "color music":

Or - one of the ten built-in modes of "flicker" and "blink". There are a sufficient number of such modes, but if they seem small, you can "draw" your own pattern:

This strange glare is also easy to justify. The Luminous lamp can be set to a timer, and then it can act as an alarm clock if someone is tired of waking up to the sound.

The timer can also be used in the case when taking out the smartphone every time to turn the lamp on and off seems tedious, and if you come home and go to work at about the same time, it does not seem ridiculous.

In total, at the intermediate stage, we get three possibilities:

    • Alarm clock
    • The ability to "draw" your color story
    • Color music

Next to color music, an even more unusual function is the reaction of color to sound, whether it is extraneous noise or the sound of your own voice.

And, since there is a reaction to sound, then there must be a reaction to color. Colors, in general, the lamp also distinguishes. Given the large number of predefined shades, this does not seem fantastic, but nonetheless: the lamp can shine with the shade of your wallpaper, jeans, desk, etc. To configure this feature, you need to go to the "Camera" menu.

An invaluable feature for designers and artists!

    In general, add:

    • Sound / Noise Response
    • Color distinction

The “basic” settings - brightness adjustment and color selection - are also represented by separate tabs in the menu with intuitive controls.

For those who did not consider, once again a complete list of features:

    • Remote on / off
    • Brightness control
    • Hue management
    • Alarm clock (timer)
    • Flicker mode
    • Your "pattern"
    • Color music
    • Noise response
    • Color distinction

Luminous comes in a box that lists some features.

In particular, it is indicated that this is an analogue of 60W lamps. Here, for comparison: incandescent 60 watts vs Luminous.

Which of these functions are needed, which ones are useless? - Of course, you decide.
    Thanks for attention!
