Blender is the most popular Google search.

So "believes" the popular service Google Trends.

As you know, this tool allows you to compare different text queries, displaying the results in various tables. Many experts are guided by this data in order to optimally solve the tasks. For example, game developers use Google Trends to find out the most popular genre or design choice. I offer you an experiment on the topic: "Who works with what!"

So, we take key queries as subjects: “Blender”, “Autodesk Maya”, “Autodesk 3DS Max”, “Cinema 4D”. These are the names of the most popular programs for creating three-dimensional content. To avoid confusion, Google Trends allows you to specify the scope to which search words relate. In this case, we use the categories: “software”, “program”, etc.

Here you can see a very interesting result, which demonstrates the ratio of requests for a certain period of time (current year). As the background information of this type of table says: the closer the result to 100 units, the more popular the search query. And here is how the results of the tested four are located:

    1. In the first place is Blender. At a specific time - this keyword reaches the ceiling of 100 units.
    2. In second place is 3ds Max. The top peak falls at 80.
    3. Autodesk Maya took third place, only slightly outperforming Cinema 4D. At the same time, both programs are significantly behind the first two.

The table shows the overall popularity of queries around the world. However, there is another summary where you can examine user preferences according to geographic location. And a surprise awaits us. We look at table No. 2.

Very unusual result! Shown here is a map of the world, which is colored according to the users choice. As you can see, the leaders are Blender and 3ds Max. The rest took an insignificant share of interest.

Curiously, Blender is most popular overseas. Almost all of South and North America prefers this program, but in Eurasia 3ds Max is the leader everywhere. Users of Russia, China, Arab countries, India prefer to use 3ds Max, but when moving to the European part, Blender again begins to regain its position.

Here's an interesting picture of the popularity of 3D editors on Google Trends.
