Apple promises to solve the "problem 1970" with the next update

Apple has recognized the existence of the "1970 problem." Let me remind you that because of this problem, the iPhone turns into a "brick" if you change the current date to January 1, 1970 and restart the smartphone. Apple posted a promise to rectify the situation on the official website. The corporation also advises users to contact an authorized service center if a similar situation arises.

As previously reported , the problem is relevant for all Apple smartphones on x64 architecture on processors A7, A8, A8X, A9 and A9X. For the first time, the problem was reported on Reddit , talking about the possibility of disabling the iPhone by simply translating the date on January 1, 1970 and then rebooting.

The iOS version does not matter at all. Some users were tricked by network pranksters who posted tips on translating the iPhone for 1970 on the Web. At the same time, it was reported that this is an “Easter egg”, which allows you to get a new application design and several new wallpapers. After the victim complied with the instructions of the jokers, she received a broken smartphone. Recovery via iTunes in this case also does not help.

And it seems like a solution to the problem:

It is clear that not every user has the necessary tools and skills for the operation shown on the video. Therefore, Apple offers to use the services of specialists from service centers.
