Epson Intelligent Cloud POS Solutions

The future of e-commerce is here!

Before moving on to the abstruse story about the terminals, let's fantasize a little.

Imagine that you went to an electronics store in which it is stated that the desired product is as easy to buy as if you had done it at home via the Internet ...

    What is it like?

Let's say you like a projector in a store. You take out a smartphone or tablet, read the QR code from the tag next to the selected product, and get to the product page on the store’s website.

After reading the characteristics of the product on the site, you decide to purchase it. The question immediately arises: is there a new projector, do not take the same model from the window! In order not to wait for a consultant or to clarify the availability at the checkout, click on the "Warehouse" button on the website. Yeah, there is! In the warehouse of such projectors there are more than 10 pieces, which means that one is enough for us. Add the product to the basket.

We resolve the issue of product warranty. Click on the button “Call Consultant” in the browser. A consultant approaches, talks about the conditions of the guarantee, offers, for example, an extended warranty for 3 years, for a certain amount of money. We make out what we need! The consultant takes out a tablet, draws up a guarantee and the cost of the guarantee automatically ends up in your basket with goods on the store’s website!

But what if the smartphone or tablet remains at home?
No problem! The consultant will place an order for you from your tablet!

    Wrap it up!

It remains to make a purchase. The consultant prints a receipt with a barcode and the number of your order on a mobile printer, which is hanging on his belt.

We go with the receipt to the ticket office. The cashier scans our barcode. We pay by credit card and confirm the transaction by electronic signature. Signed up!
But what if the checkout is crazy? We approach the self-service terminal, scan the bar code from the printed receipt and pay by credit card. Done - the terminal issues a receipt for payment!

We go to the point of delivery of goods. We get our projector and go home!

    And how to organize this?

If you want, believe it or not, the store owner will need only one POS terminal to organize this entire process of interaction with the buyer ! We’ll tell about him.

    Epson TMi - a series of ultra-compact POS-terminals for use in cloud-based POS-solutions

Epson TMi  is the latest Epson POS-terminal series with a built-in receipt printer and the ability to connect peripherals, specially designed for use in cloud-based POS solutions.

    What are the benefits?

In short, Epson TMi is a ready-made solution for organizing trade, which is designed to complement an existing system, helping to optimize business processes and make shops or restaurants more customer-oriented.

So, the unique Communication Box function allows you to simultaneously connect several information input / output devices to the TMi terminal and distribute data between them:

    • cashier display
    • Buyer display to display purchase and advertisement information
    • additional terminal in the form of a tablet for a consultant in the hall (with wireless communication with the terminal)
    • customer devices, etc.

In addition to connecting peripheral devices such as a barcode scanner, keyboard, payment terminal, etc., additional receipt printers can be connected to devices of the TMi series, for example, for installation in a restaurant’s kitchen or at a bar counter. The TMi terminal will distribute the print job by printer identifiers, and also converts data from the XML format into an ESC / POS format that the printer understands.

Terminals can be easily integrated into systems based on WEB applications (using the universal XMLPOS protocol) or connected to devices running iOS / Android. The absence of the need to develop drivers and special applications simplifies the development and deployment of such a POS system.

Solution developers are provided with SDKs for iOS, Android and JavaScript. An API is also provided for integrating the solution with third-party software.

    Further more!

We understand that progress does not stand still, therefore Epson plans to develop a line of devices taking into account industry trends, in particular equipping terminals with NFC-modules for receiving payments using client devices.
