Elon Musk confirmed plans to launch 700 communications satellites into Earth orbit
At Geektimes, news has already been published that Elon Musk and partners are working on their own project to provide access to the Network for the most remote corners of our planet. This is planned to be done by launching into orbit a group of 700 miniature communication satellites.
At the same time, Facebook and Google are working on similar projects. These companies plan to launch several types of devices at once: balloons, communication satellites, drones. This is all done for the same purpose - to enable residents of regions where it is impossible to deploy a regular network infrastructure to connect to the Network.
SpaceX is still in the early stages of developing advanced micro-satellites operating in large formations. Announcement in 2 to 3 months.

The other day, Elon Musk confirmed the intention of his company, SpaceX, to develop functional mini-communication satellites (weighing about 100 kilograms and costing about a million US dollars) to work in a group. The official announcement of the project results will take place in 2-3 months.
@elonmusk I hope this is about free and unfettered internet access for the masses.

@ Shmizer1 unfettered certainly and at very low cost

In this case, Musk said that the price of access to the Network, using the new infrastructure, will be very low. Mask partner in the project is the project manager of WorldVu Satellites Ltd, but so far there is no official agreement on cooperation with the company itself.
