Subreddit collects a collection of photographs of the "blue screen of death"

The curious subreddit with the blunt name Public Blue Screen of Death drew attention to the publication Arstechnica. As you might guess, community members share their own and found on the Internet photos of the “blue screen of death” - a critical error of the Windows operating system - on all kinds of public devices, such as information boards, billboards, electronic informants and just computers, installed where many people can see them.

When the Arstechnica editor talked to the creator of the PBSOD subreddit with the nickname Kmlkmljkl, it turned out that it does not pursue any special purpose and was created simply because someone did not find where to "post a photo" of the BSOD, which caught my eye in some public place. At best, Kmlkmljkl is hoping for new users.

There is a similar community on the Internet - a group in Flickr Public Computer Errors , but it "specializes" in general all errors of any operating systems on any devices.

The most famous and probably the earliest case of "public shame" with the advent of BSOD occurred back in 1998 at the presentation of Windows 98 with the participation of Bill Gates. On stage at the Comdex exhibition, the Plug and Play function was demonstrated: Gates' colleague Chris Kapossela tried to connect the scanner to a computer in order to show how quickly and easily everything worked. But at that moment, Windows just crashed into the BSOD. To the credit of the then head of Microsoft, he was not at a loss and turned the joke around, saying that this is why sales of Windows 98 have not yet begun.
