Announcement of the mitap Sync.NET # 4 in Kharkov

    Going to Sync.NET # 4, friends! Traditionally, the program of the event has cool reports and no less cool speakers, great coffee and no less tasty sweets, a meeting with old and new friends, a friendly photographer, friendly barista and a lot of interesting things.
    Briefly about speakers and reports - under the cut.

    Ekaterina Kashchenko, “Progressive web applications and their capabilities in modern web”

    • Can web applications replace native ones?
    • What to do if there is no access to the network on the device?
    • Is it possible and how to work with the system API?

    We will also talk about the simplicity of creating progressive web applications from SPA, about Service Worker - data caching technology, strategies and, of course, pwa testing.

    Nazarii Taran, “Exploring Roslyn”

    .NET Compiler Platform, aka Roslyn is an open source compiler for C # and VB, written in the same languages. This opens up great opportunities both for everyday development and for those who like to “dig deeper” in the compiler mechanism and write their own solution for the code analyzer. Not every platform boasts similar, and this makes Roslyn unique in its kind.

    We will discuss such topics:

    • what Roslyn is, what key concepts it is based on, what data structures it uses;
    • how Roslyn and Visual Studio make our work better and more productive;
    • scripting in C #;
    • plugins for Visual Studio and a custom code analyzer using the Visual Studio SDK and Roslyn as an example of application.

    Ivan Lomakov, “Physiology of MS SQL Server. We prepare and study tables. ”

    Typically, developers are not very keen on understanding the principles of the internal structure of databases. Studying all the possibilities of a particular database is seen as some kind of burdensome action. And if the only problem we face is a decrease in productivity, then we can say that we are very lucky. For a number of projects, this threatens to invent their own “bicycle”, which leads to more complicated architecture, extra hours of development, long fixes for bugs and complicated testing. But even a superficial study of all the features of databases can give us many interesting discoveries!

    We are all used to the fact that in SQL databases there are only ordinary “classic” tables, but this is far from the case. Even the SQL standard tells us otherwise. At the same time, each individual product may offer some of its own special "tables". For example, in MS SQL Server there are 5 types of tables.

    We will consider the following issues:

    • why MS SQL Server has so many kinds of tables;
    • how they can be useful from the point of view of the developer.

    We are always with both hands for live communication, and after the reports, our speakers will gladly answer all your questions.
