Mobile help desk: Aruba Mobile Engagement

Every day, a huge number of people visit various entertainment venues and shopping centers. The lion's share of visitors are owners of smartphones and other mobile communication devices. What benefits can this bring to the service industry?

According to statistics, more than 80% of the world's population owns mobile devices, and this figure is growing annually. This encourages business owners to create their own personalized applications and services that allow them to better interact with customers and understand their needs. Already in 2013, about 27% of companies around the world introduced location-based services using mobile devices, and by 2017 this figure is projected to grow to 52%. Outlets, hotels, hospitals and other institutions develop their own personalized applications that allow visitors to get the information they need not only within the organization itself, but also promotional offers from cafes, shops and entertainment centers, next to which the visitor is currently located.

The personalized Aruba Mobile Engagement mobile solution will help companies working in the service sector to interact with their customers as efficiently as possible. It uses the Wi-Fi infrastructure available in the building, as well as Aruba Beacons technology with easy-to-deploy beacons. Thanks to him, it is possible to organize easy access to a wireless network, send out personalized push-messages and implement navigation services in rooms for users of mobile devices based on their personal profiles and location data in the building.

For this, the service uses Aruba Meridian mobile applications or the browser of a smartphone or tablet. Moreover, advertising is displayed depending on the preferences of the visitor, his location, time of day and other criteria. If the client does not want to receive notifications, he can easily unsubscribe from the service. It is worth noting,

    The

Aruba Mobile Engagement beacon system determines the location of a customer to send alerts on their mobile device using special Aruba Beacons beacons that receive Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signal. In addition, thanks to them, visitors themselves can determine their location in the building and plan the optimal route to the desired part.

Beacons can be connected to wireless access points via a USB port or be built into the points themselves. All beacons are managed by the cloud-based Meridian Editor Content Management System. This system allows you to customize the operation of each Aruba Beacons and control them from a single panel. You can also use the Aruba Sensor (AS-100), which controls beacons within a radius of 25 meters and at the same time acts like a normal beacon. This sensor collects data from the beacons and transmits Meridian Editor to the cloud via Wi-Fi for further analysis.

    Arena heart

One of the most noteworthy projects using Aruba Mobile Engagement was the new home stadium of the San Francisco 49ers football club - Levi's Stadium, a 172,000 m² sports and entertainment complex that seats 68,500 spectators. The stadium’s telecommunications network is based on Aruba’s mobile technology, which ensures the efficient transfer of exclusive content, building information and services for fans. This made it possible to create a personal mobile information center for every fan inside the arena - fans can instantly view replays, get directions inside the building and order food and drinks directly from their devices.
