An honest story of launch, existence, and possibly failure

Once I decided that I was ready to launch my project. I have a blog, and it can also be considered my project, but who is not blogging right now? Many people blog, in fact, this is one of the most popular activities on the Internet, and recently it has also become a very loose concept. And here is my joke on a thousand units of some cryptocurrency: mailing was my project. Why is this funny? Because, well, who now does not have a newsletter? I myself am subscribed to 20 pieces from various publications, shops, blogs (again they are!).
Why did you choose the newsletter? I could do a lot of things, but why mailing? The answer will disappoint you: because it's easy. More precisely, easier than all the other options that I could consider. But honestly. Even the topic of the mailing is impossibly banal, but it cannot be said that it’s at all easy.
Yes, this is a motivation letter.
And the motivator of me, frankly so-so.
Why am I telling you this? Because this is the most honest story of the launch and existence of the project. I read a lot of them like any person in the subject.
Startup stories are written in two cases:
- you succeeded and an awl in an interesting place does not give you peace
- you did not succeed, but came out of the water dry, so you are not ashamed to talk about it.
And there are also failure stories, they are written for similar reasons:
- you went dry out of the water and share the history of failure and lessons learned in the hope that your audience is smart people and they will learn from your mistakes.
- you write about the failure of one of your projects in order to boast of your new project with which you have been successful.
And I write because it's cool when you can write and lighten your soul, and can get valuable advice in the comments.
How it all began? I’m sitting, reading a book, and then bam! Spark, storm, keep reading the book. But in my head there is already a small worm eating a labyrinth in the brain, telling me that it’s time. My time has come. My wife received such letters for some time and even was in a closed group with my future target audience. It remained to do everything right. And it seems that somewhere I screwed up. I designed the landing page using the Wix constructor. He came up with a name, attached Google a form for collecting addresses, but squeezed money to buy a normal domain. As a result, the site is somehow indexed by search engines, it does it very badly. Well, to hell with him! Then another misfortune began: I had no idea, even basic knowledge, how to do mailings from a purely technical point of view. I couldn’t just send one letter from a regular email account. I started searching and found MailChimp by a short search. Well, as I figured out the settings, you are not interested, so let’s omit this moment. All preparations are over and it is time to launch an “advertising” campaign. He asked his wife to place a link in his group, showed all his friends on social networks and began to wait. So I got a certain number of addresses. I waited a week, their number did not increase, which means the exhaust is over, and it's time to make a letter. This process is even more boring than how I dealt with the distribution settings. showed all his friends on social networks and began to wait. So I got a certain number of addresses. So my project began. On Friday night, I sent as much a second letter (!). Despite the small exhaust and the small number of addresses collected, I received a% opening letter of more than half. This can be considered modest, very modest but a success. It is such positive moments that make everyone move on. It seems to me that even modern measures of success, such as Zuckerberg, Musk and others, were in my place. They think that a certain number of people who read this text were also in my place.
So, there is my project. I am going to send the next letter on Monday, because I promised to do it regularly and on Friday and Monday. And somewhere, it seems on the Go blog! Practice I read that the habits of your users make your success .
Good luck
Your project and success is already waiting for you, just start acting the way you like it!
PS honesty, frankly, is not such a cool character trait.
