Over 1 billion active Apple devices worldwide

Apple said it has 1 billion active iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Apple Watch devices. This data was obtained by tracking devices that used the services of the company over the past 90 days.

Compared to last year, the number of active gadgets has grown by 25%.

During the first quarter of fiscal 2016, Apple sold a record 74.8 million iPhones, 5.3 million Mac computers and 16.1 million iPads. The company also earned just over $ 6 billion in revenue from its services, including the App Store and iTunes, AppleCare, Apple Music, Apple Pay, licenses, and many other services.

Earlier in January, the company announced the 2015 New Year holiday season the most successful for the App Store in the company's history. For 2 weeks (until January 3rd), customers spent a record $ 1.1 billion on apps and purchases.

Within a week after the grand Christmas sales, on the New Year's Day, users spent $ 144 million, which is also a record high.

Recent data from Apple suggests that 75% of active devices have iOS 9 installed, 19% still use iOS 8. The remaining 7% of devices work on earlier versions of iOS. Earlier, the company reported that iOS 9 could become the most downloaded version of the Apple operating system for the entire history of the company's development.
