Preply Tutor Search Service Received $ 120K From TechStars Berlin

    The Preply project , which helps to find teachers for teaching foreign languages ​​at home and on Skype, received $ 120 thousand from the TechStars Berlin accelerator, writes Roem.ru. The startup headquarters is located in Kiev. The Preply project was founded back in 2013.

    In April of this year, the service received an audience prize at the iHub Ring # 2 startup tournament. The tournament was held by the Seed Forum Foundation in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.

    Currently, Preply has already entered the markets of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Poland. The developers plan to use all the funds received to promote their service in the markets of Poland, Ukraine and Russia.

    The Preply team now has 14 people, 50% of them are marketers, 30% are programmers. In Berlin, the founders of the project worked with the accelerator.

    The total turnover of the company in the markets of Poland, Ukraine and Russia is now $ 30 thousand. The service itself takes 18-33% of the cost of the lessons, depending on the volume of the order. The main expense item of the service is the promotion of the service and the salary of the staff. Next year, the company plans to increase revenue by five times.
