    On March 2, the Higher School of Business Informatics of the National Research University Higher School of Economics will have a free open lecture on game design on the topic “ How to create your own game . It is quite unique, as in terms of content and timing it corresponds to one of my classes on the paid educational program “Management of gaming Internet projects”.

    I will conduct an open lecture, Konstantin Sakhnov, the supervisor of this program, the director of the game design department of the RJ Games game studio. My team and I invite everyone to this interesting gamedev event! You can read more about the lecture later in the article.





    The event is held as part of the nine-month educational program of professional retraining " Management of gaming Internet projects"And the weekly training programs" Fundamentals of Game Development ", which now is the spring enrollment.

    The lecture will be interesting both for novice developers who want to understand how to begin to make their own game products , as well as current employees of game studios , aimed at systematizing their own knowledge for game development and to explore new approaches to the development of the methodology. and of course the people who are interested in games and are considering to start working in the gaming industry. by the way, some of our article dents successfully employed in the gaming companies directly during training.

    What will be discussed in the lecture:

    • How to start making your game : a case for both beginner developers and the producer launching a new project .
    • What stages do large Russian and foreign companies distinguish when developing online games : work in steps.
    • What you need to do the team at each stage on the example of the studio RJ Games.
    • What types of design documentation are prepared at each stage : what is the difference between vision, concept, dzdok and terms of reference.
    • From which blocks it is necessary to compose a concept document for the project so that management approves it the first time.
