Next weekend I will be hosting another hackathon. This hackathon will be the first of a series of four competitions and competitions of projects dedicated to the integration of IT and what is commonly referred to as the capacious term “creative industry”: cinema, television, museums, art venues and other entertainment stuff. As usual, the main task of the event is to create a party for IT people, where developers, designers and startups will be able to create a working product prototype in a short time,
screw upto speak with him before the honored jury and compete for cash prizes. Two days and one night on the site I will be waiting for you, the mentors from the film industry, hot pizza, red bull and the opportunity to realize your idea or join a promising team. In addition, this time you can not only develop new application prototypes, but also present existing ones (on the subject of cinema and television) in the framework of a special format - barcamp, at the event.

I suppose all readers have heard of hackathons. But few participated in them. For many years, I and Apps4All have been engaged in the popularization of hackathons and attract developers, designers, authors of ideas with glowing eyes and just those who are interested in them. A well-organized hackathon is a great opportunity for developers to hone their skills in conditions as close as possible to combat. The tight deadlines and the struggle for prizes have a very positive effect on our abilities for focused work - the developer who came to the hackathon understands that “everything is real” and gives all the best, in two days gaining more valuable experience than in the months of regular office work.

A properly organized hackathon has an extremely low entry threshold: you do not need sports programming skills or the ability to assemble prototypes in ten minutes. In fact, all you need is the ability to program. In any language and platform. There are many more authors of ideas on hackathons than developers, so there are no extra hands in principle. Even if you have been developing firmware for microcontrollers in C for the past five years - believe me, there are at least a couple of teams that will be very happy to see you. One of my
habraposts describes the mechanics of a typical hackathon - look, it's worth it.

Another positive feature of hackathons is the presence on the site of mentors and experts who want to share with you information about the specifics of the industry. Want to know more about the backstage of making TV shows? What software is used when editing a movie? What is installed on the smartphones of actors and why they do not like it? Come - they will tell you everything, show and share industry insiders. For my part, I am ready to tell and show the capabilities of the voximplant communication platform - our ability to transmit video will be very helpful, given the specifics of the hackathon.

The event will be held from October 31 to November 1 at one of the VDNH venues. You can read more
in the announcement and on the
official website. You can register there. Just in case, I remind you that if something went wrong, for example, you did not find a site or forgot to register - you can always write me a personal message on the hub or on facebook, notifications on the clock come to me promptly. We are waiting for you at the hackathon!
