Meet the new Opera brand



    Today we introduce our new brand. We are introducing a new style, and this is more than a simple change of logo.

    Opera has changed a lot since we started our journey as a browser company 20 years ago. Today we provide services to more than one billion Internet users around the world, including 350 million users who access the Internet through our applications or services, and 1.1 billion through the Opera Mediaworks network.

    It is time for a brand that reflects Opera's mission today:

    We want to provide more people in more places the
    opportunity to discover the most important when it is most needed.



    More features with the new O


    The cornerstone of the new Opera brand is our updated “O” logo. Just as our products are more than just technologies, the new logo does not just mean the first letter of our company name.

    We imagine the new Opera logo as a portal that quickly connects you to what you are looking for on the net. The three-dimensional “O” symbolizes the path that leads you to more: more content, more discoveries, more answers, more communication, more data savings, more life - no matter what you look for online, Opera will give you more options!



    From Opera Software to Opera


    With the ever-growing Opera family and our ever-expanding line of products and services, we gradually went beyond the scope of an exclusively software company. Today, Opera is an online company that provides excellent online experience. To match this, we removed “Software” from our logo.

    How we worked on it


    A new brand is a more complex structure than just colors, icons, and fonts. This is a whole system that easily and clearly combines our goals, products and history. The construction of such a system required close collaboration between the creative team of Opera and two independent agencies - DixonBaxi (Great Britain), which helped us determine the global brand and creative strategy, and  Anti (Norway), who worked with us on visual materials. It was an exciting year-long project.



    The new “O” will first appear on mobile phones


    Today we present a new design and an updated icon for our flagship product Opera Mini on the iOS platform . Our subsidiary, Opera Mediaworks, is also launching its new design.

    Opera never stands still, so it was so important for us that our new brand could grow with us. We are approaching new solutions and products, and we want them to organically fit into our new style and design.

    Over the next few months, we will be introducing our new brand into all Opera products. Opera for Android , Opera Mini for Android and  Opera for computers - Next in line, a new brand will appear in them in a few updates. Soon after, we will change the icons and logo in our Opera Max data management application , Opera Coast browser for iOS and other applications. Follow our news!
