Today we carried out the migration of hubs.
The pre-existing hubs “3G”, “LTE” and “Radio communications” were combined into one common hub “ Communication standards ”. Thanks to the rapid development of technology, new communication standards are constantly appearing; others, on the contrary, are dying. In order not to go into details, we decided to combine everything into one hub.
The same thing happened with the telephony and IP telephony hubs. In these hubs, texts on the creation and development of communication solutions were mainly published. We decided to combine these hubs into one and called it “ Development of communication systems ”. Plus, we created another hub that will be of interest to those interested in the development of telecommunication solutions - " Development of data transmission systems ."
The launch of " Megamind " allowed to restore even greater order in the hubs on the projects. And today, such hubs as “ Careers in the IT industry ” and “ Legislation and IT-business ” have moved there, as they are much closer in meaning to “Megamind”. At the same time, the hub “ Internet Regulation ” and “ Finance in the IT Industry ” remained at Geektimes. We planned to transfer the latter to Megamind, but we abandoned this idea - there is already a suitable hub “Venture Investments” there, plus we created another one - “ Mergers and Acquisitions ”.
We decided to stop the movement of hubs between projects, but we are ready for advice and suggestions. As for merging, renaming, or adding new hubs, you may have some specific suggestions that we would love to hear from you.
Recently, we lowered the threshold for receiving an invitation to publish to profile hubs from 100 units to 50. In the comments to the announcement, many users with good publications rightly complained that it would be nice to give invites for previously published texts that could not get the required 100 rating units. This is a really good idea, and today UFOs finally sent invites to authors of publications in specialized hubs with ratings from 50 to 99, posted over the past 2 years and until today on our three projects: Habrahabr , Megamind and Geektimes .
