Samsung introduced the flagship UHD monitor of the 9th series U32D970Q

Samsung Electronics has announced the release of the flagship ultra-high resolution monitor (3840x2160) - Samsung U32D970Q model. The new professional UHD display with a diagonal of 31.5 "is specially designed for those whose professional activities are related to graphics, photos, video, as well as design systems. The novelty boasts a PLS matrix, the resolution is equivalent to the four Full HD monitors installed nearby, and Samsung U32D970Q is 64 times the number of colors displayed.

The new monitor is designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding representatives of those professions where the ideal study of the image details and impeccable color reproduction without distortion are important. The U32D970Q 10-bit PLS matrix uses more than 8 million pixels. For comparison, in standard Full HD monitors, the number of pixels is a little over 2 million. Samsung’s new monitor is capable of displaying more than 1 billion colors, while a regular Full HD monitor can display a little over 16 million colors.

Samsung U32D970Q supports the use of 11 color spaces, including sRGB, AdobeRGB, DICOM, DCI and others. It not only provides full coverage of the sRGB range, but also guarantees 100% coverage of Adobe RGB, the professional color space that is the standard for commercial printing. For advanced color grading purposes, the monitor supports DualColor mode, which allows you to display two color spaces at the same time - for example, to compare images on the network and on print.

The monitor has a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. The U32D970Q is equipped with four digital video ports for connecting additional devices: HDMI 1.4 (3840x2160, 30 Hz), DVI-DL, as well as two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors (3840x2160, 60 Hz). When using two sources simultaneously, the monitor will output a signal from both devices thanks to the Picture-in-Picture function: the image of a small window will be reproduced in the original resolution up to Full HD (1920x1080), while the main picture will remain in UHD format. UHD Upscale function will improve the clarity and image quality to the highest possible resolution of 4K (3840x2160). In addition, the new Quad Picture-by-Picture feature allows you to work simultaneously with all four connection sources: Using this function, it became possible to simultaneously display images from four additional devices in Full HD resolution. The monitor is also equipped with a USB hub with 4 USB3.0 connectors for connecting peripherals, and thanks to the USB Super Charging function, you can charge mobile devices much faster.

Each Samsung U32D970Q monitor undergoes individual factory calibration in 25 zones. Included with the display is a certificate of calibration. The user also has the option of self-calibration using special software to adjust gamma, uniformity of backlight, and white balance. In addition, calibration using third-party calibration devices is supported.

The multifunctional stand of the new monitor gives the user complete freedom to adjust the screen: height adjustment, tilt, rotation in the plane of the table, installation in portrait mode - everything is designed for maximum convenience when working with the image. Adjustment options provide advanced options for the location of the monitor in space for a variety of creative and functional purposes. The monitor has a VESA-compatible mount, so it can also be mounted on the wall.

They did not say anything about the prices for the presentation of the Samsung U32D970Q, but when it goes on sale it is only known that this will happen this fall.
