Adapting Innovation for Rollbacks with the Epiphan Distance Doc 2 Example
A small overview of the adaptation of innovations on the example of "Epiphan Distance Doc 2" for participation in public procurement.
I am an IT specialist. In order to maintain the relevance of my knowledge, I try to keep abreast of the state of affairs in the field of information technology, for which I regularly monitor. Since I am interested in cloud technologies and services, I am also interested in technologies that provide work with a stationary personal computer remotely via the Internet from various devices, for example, from a tablet. Freedom - from noise, dust and the need to sit in front of the monitor, in my opinion, are sufficient reasons for using cloud technology.
I managed to master open virtualization using QEMU / KVM, forwarding video cards to virtual machines, but unfortunately I ran into the fact that remote access using open protocols to forwarded video cards does not have sufficient performance. I found a way out of this situation in hardware encoding a video signal from a video card either through the use of cloud-based video cards or through the use of a video brodcaster.
Cloud video cards are video cards that have a built-in video encoder that captures and compresses the video stream and sends it over the network. Examples of these video cards are video cards of the series: AMD Radeon SKY and Nvidia GRID. Using the data from the video card, you can create your own cloud service, but unfortunately the data from the video card is significantly different in price from conventional video cards and is not available in the retail market.
A video brodcaster is a device that, like an IP camera, broadcasts a video stream to the network, but not from the camera, but from a forwarded video card. Using these devices, you can create your own cloud service, although these devices are also not cheap.
However, what was my surprise when on one of the websites of video brodkaster manufacturers, one of the Skolkovo residents, I discovered a real sawn-and-roll Skolkovo innovative product.

There are no interfaces for medical devices other than standard, not used in other areas. From here we make the assumption that the manufacturer of this device intentionally deceives (misleads) potential buyers about the specialization of its device for medicine. Perhaps this is done to participate in upcoming public procurement.
Since “Distance Doc 2” is an ordinary video brodcaster, then it can be used not only in medicine. Consider a theoretically simple example - remote access to the computer screen of a video surveillance operator (private security company, police department, security department, etc.) using this device over the network, for example from another building.
The signals from the cameras are fed to the computer of the video surveillance operator, a special video surveillance program displays video streams from the cameras on the monitor screen using a video card. To the question "Is it possible to connect this device to a video card?" you can safely answer “Yes”, since connecting to a video card using this device via VGA and DVI is quite possible. The ability to record in the field of video surveillance can also be used and it will be a nice option, not redundant functionality.
In order to put an end to the proof of the alleged specialization of “Epiphan Distance Doc 2” for participation in public procurement, we open the American website and in the video section we don’t find any mention of “Distance Doc 2”.
Thus, we conclude that this innovative product is really prepared for participation in public procurement in Russia.
While watching the above commercial, I was interested in the words of Victor Dubrovin, director of sales development at Epiphan Systems, which he said at the end of the video that these devices cost 100 to 150 thousand rubles, when analogues are sold for 300 thousand rubles.
I knew in advance that Epiphan is practically a monopolist and does not hesitate to pursue a policy of reverse dumping in Russia, to illustrate this, we compare the prices of the company's products in the USA and Russia with the twin model “VGADVI Broadcaster”.
The difference is almost twice. If you transfer US dollars (the dollar exchange rate is 31.6775, as of 10/27/2013), we get the value of VGADVI Broadcaster in rubles:
Thus, thanks to reverse dumping, buyers from Russia overpay almost half the price of 44031.725 rubles. Discrimination in all its glory. This does not climb into any gates.
Using the example of the “Distance Doc 2” device, we saw the true face of Epiphan, its attitude towards Russian customers, as well as the true face of the Skolkovo science city, as well as the face of the political regime that is leading the genocide of the Russian population, in particular through the theft of the budget using the aforementioned science city .
