Actually, the newsletter attracted my attention with the mention of the French company Parrot. Last year I tested the speakerphone (in other words, the speakerphone in the car) of the Parrot MINIKIT Neo, which facilitated talking on the phone “without hands” at all, starting from the stage of making a call / receiving a call.
This time the advertised device turned out to be even more interesting, I was offered to get acquainted with the Parrot ASTEROID Tablet. This, surprise, is the “first car tablet” in Russia. The wording, to put it mildly, alerted. It is not worth rushing to such ugly marketing statements of a company with an almost 26-year history. In fact, it turned out that the statement, although controversial, contains a grain of truth.

Something tells me that during this period the guys from Parrot have done something more than a couple of new menus. According to a press release, Parrot ASTEROID Market is mentioned as an alternative to Google Play. The “play” itself, as I understand it, is absent. It’s sad.
Support for 3G and 4G modems is indicated, but it is not specified, do I need to connect them with an OTG cable or are the ports located directly in the electrical unit? In general, I had a lot of questions for the Parrot ASTEROID Tablet, so I asked this device for a test. They are threatening to deliver tomorrow - we’ll see what they offer us. I will not discuss the price of almost 19,000 rubles (about $ 600), because there are 2DIN systems on sale for both 10 thousand ($ 320) and 50 thousand rubles ($ 1600).
