RetroN 5 is the next generation gaming console for nostalgic gamers

Back in 2010, I wrote about the RetroN 3 game console , which allows you to play old games without any emulators, using cartridges from a wide variety of game consoles of the past. The developers have significantly improved this game console, putting it on the "wide screen". In other words, the console supporting the game with NES, SNES, Genesis, Mega Drive, Super Famicom, Game Boy Color, Game Boy, Famicom and Game Boy Advance cartridges allows you to play on modern TV with a resolution of up to 720p. There are other goodies.

In particular, the console allows you to save anywhere in the game, continue the game from any save. It is possible to increase and decrease the speed of the gameplay, configure the controls in a PS3-like interface. In addition, saves are saved on any connected drive, including SD cards. The total number of slots for cartridges of different formats is 5 pieces.

The developers are not talking about the cost of the console, but it is known that the price will not exceed $ 100. Let me remind you that the previous version, RetroN 3, cost only $ 70. Of course, if you do not have old cartridges left, you will have to spend more on their purchase. However, many gamers of this stuff is full. Personally, I still have somewhere Rock'n'Roll Racing for Sega Genesis / Mega Drive.

There will probably be questions like “You can make a trolleybus out of black bread, but why?”. But gamers understand that the game from the original cartridge in no case can be replaced by a game using any emulator with a ROM downloaded from the Network.
