How would you like to see Sailfish OS from Jolla?

After announcing that Jolla will introduce the interface and SDK of its new Sailfish OS on November 21, changes have taken place in the company's management. Its CEO, Jussi Hurmola, left his post to focus directly on developing a new OS, and the new CEO of Jolla was Mark Dillon, formerly one of the chief engineers of the Maemo & MeeGo project, who also held several key positions at Nokia at various times: Configuration Management at Nokia, S40 CoreSW Integrator at Nokia, Symbian Build Manager / Team Leader at Nokia, Configuration Management Administrator at Nokia.

Waiting for the presentation of OS Sailfish, I tried to formulate my user wishes for the functionality and interface of the new OS. The list is clearly not exhaustive and probably subjective. I hope that the comments will significantly supplement or correct it.

    1. So that the user himself can assign the operating mode of a particular application in the background.

    2. In order for the user to decide whether he will have an open or closed system (in fact, this has already been implemented in MeeGo Harmattan, I would only like this functionality to be preserved).

    3. In order for the device to work for at least 20 hours in maximum load mode (while I personally do not care how thick it will be, within reasonable limits, of course).

    4. In order for the OS to support applications for all existing OSes, - according to the principle of virtual machines, for example, the hardware part already allows this. Support for applications from the Android Play Market, sort of as already announced.

    5. So that kinetic recharging is implemented in the OS, that is, so that the smartphone is recharged from oscillation while it is in your pocket, for example.

    6. That the OSes interface does not require the hadvarnye control buttons on the device (that is, in this sense, so that a certain continuity with respect to N9 is preserved).

    7. In order for the OS to support the x86 architecture, that is, that it, or its derivatives, can be installed equally on smartphones and tablets, as well as on laptops and desktops.

    8. For OS Sailfish firmware to be released for dozens of flagship Android devices from different manufacturers. In general, this direction the development of OS Sailfish, in my opinion, should be one of the main ones.

    9. In order for the interface to be implemented not only full-fledged multitasking, but also a multi-window mode, which involves opening several applications on the same desktop window.

10 In order for the OS to be implemented deep integration with one (or several) of the cloud services, which allows you to synchronize any data.
