
Foxconn officially unveiled a low-noise nettop

In May, Foxconn announced the imminent entry into the market of miniature personal PCs with a passive cooling system. Then it was an announcement without any specific details. Neither the release date, nor price, nor configuration were reported. Now, these PCs, called Foxconn Nano, are already officially presented, with all the necessary data.
So, the company showed two new NanoPC models, calling them the quietest nettops at the moment. Both models, the AT-5250 and AT-5600 are based on the Intel Atom and AMD Brazos platforms, respectively. Consumption in standby mode is approximately 15 watts, in active mode - 24 watts. According to the developers, nettops are completely silent thanks to the use of a passive cooling system.
With all this, the size of the nettop is really minimal: 190 x 135 x 38 mm. Foxconn engineers have long worked on a new cooling system, achieving visible results. As for the storage medium, the buyer can choose either a 2.5 "hard drive or 1.8" / 2.5 "independently - both models come with free slots.
The developers have provided two USB 3.0, 4 USB 2.0, a gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI and VGA. There is also a 5-in-1 card reader, plus a Wi-Fi wireless module. Such a nettop can be attached to the back of a monitor or TV, the VESA standard is included in the package.
The AT-5600 has an AMD Brazos E450 processor (1.65 GHz) and a Radeon HD 6320 graphics adapter. The Foxconn AT-5250 has an Intel Cedar View D2550 processor (1.86 GHz), plus integrated GMA 3650 graphics. prices, the AT-5600 will cost $ 280; the AT-5250 will cost $ 260.
