SmartTripod - a robot operator



    Within the framework of the competition from Microsoft, which lasted a whole month, several options for robots were presented that could help a person in one way or another. Naturally, there were prize categories, with an award in the form of a fairly large sum of money. They gave $ 10,000 for first place, and Arthur Veit received his reward with his SmartTripod project.

    This robot is a tripod with a camera mounted on a self-propelled platform Eddie. The system uses not only the camera, but also Kinect. Here we have installed a laptop with specialized software (Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio 4) as the “brain”. The developer believes that his robot shoots the video no worse than the average hand operator.

    In general, one can argue with this statement, but the project is interesting in any case. The robot follows the person, at a certain distance, and removes what needs to be removed. The result of such filming, as well as a demonstration of the project itself, is lower.
